Governor sees IKEA's Novgorod plant purchase closed by April

MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- The purchase of IKEA’s plant in Novgorod is to be closed by April 2023, Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin said on Monday.

"I can only say that the potential investors have already been to the plants, have acquainted with everything,” Nikitin said.

“The plant was even launched in a test mode in November–December to demonstrate the existing capacity to the buyers. We expect that the plant purchase deal will be finished by the end of the first quarter of 2023."

The official also said that after the sale production on the plant will be restored soon. The new products might be of any design, because the plant's capacities are universal, Nikitin said.
